Your Xhosa: Molo tshomi yam! = Hello my chum! Listen & learn:
WORD PARTS:
Molo = Hello (said to one person any time of the day or night),
tshomi = chum (slang!),
yam = my.
PS “Molo” is thought to have come from the Afrikaans word “More”. The original Xhosa greeting (still used in some rural areas) is “Bhota”.
Use this greeting with young urban friends, not with traditional / older Xhosa people, as the slang in the latter case could come across as disrespectful.
ENJOY!
